I speak of how the clothing expresses who you are, but there is another very important aspect to clothing...how it makes you FEEL.
During motherhood, it is no longer about you. You are put on the back burner and your entire world is dedicated to the new life you hold in your hands. We no longer shop for the nice clothes, as they will undoubtedly will get spit on, or worse. We now buy our clothing where we buy our food.
Walking into your closet during this time is not the highlight of the day, as your body is changing everyday and you now have many different sizes in one little space. What you wore before pregnancy, will now only fit one thigh. Not to mention, the other tops you purchased, you grabbed just because you had to rush out of the store because the baby wants a nap.
Fast forward...
Whew! Your child is now functioning on their own and has some independence. You are now back in the spotlight. Time to go shopping!
You shop, taking all the time you need to find the right fit for your new body. You look in the mirror and smile, saying to yourself, "I'm back!"
The following morning you walk into the closet, dreading the idea of having to find something that won't fit, cup of coffee in hand, eyes barely open. But wait, no one is calling your name to help pour the cereal, tie a shoe or find a lost crayon. You open the door, and as if a choir is singing with a bright light, you see it. A new selection of clothing that you picked out, that shows your new personality and most importantly, fits you!
The Power of the Closet.

My mother-in-law purchase some lovely cloth napkins years ago for this occasion and I've been able to create a new design every year. This year, I have a bit more time to spend on preparations. So, I scoured Pinterest for some new ideas. And after much thought and shopping, I have come up with the 2020 Thanksgiving table scape. We have 22 guests this year. I've included a close up of the paper & ribbon napkin "rings".
I always do a run through in my studio before the actual presentation:
Here is the actual event, a well received gathering by all!
Items I used to create this golden setting:
Thanks for stopping by & Happy Thanksgiving!

]]>Front and center, she stood in the entryway of this lovely location, and she stole my heart instantly. Quietly hoping she would fit into my vehicle, I headed towards the counter to claim her as mine.
Fast forward a few months, and I began working with the cabinet builder to make sure she has a home. Now, in our new home, she shines daily in her glory and smiles as we pass.
Because of that piece of history, I now have a unique connection to the wonderful shop in a quaint, historic town. So much so, that it was on my heart to be a bigger part of this said shop. I reached out inquiring as to their collection of products. Being a local artisan, I wanted in. A year later, since finding said piece, I am setting up my own talents in this quaint and lovely shop.
A new adventure awaits!

Nine months later, and we get the keys to our newly built home as a gift for listening to His plan. We've been here for a few months now and its perfect. Of course, God knew that already, so we bless him daily for this wonderful gift.
In said house, we have designed a lovely studio where my illustrations are the wallpaper, inspiring me to keep going. And in the weeks leading up to closing, God put it on my heart to start an art group. So that I could start hanging out with like minded people.
Within the second month, I had a wonderful group of 5 women gathering in my studio, talking of art , art field trips, classes, putting on art shows and possibly opening up a parcel in the near future as they build at the front of our neighborhood.
While God prepares us for said adventures, I'm very pleased to share that because of my listening, a silver sneaker, blooming artist is now holding her first art showing in the West Pasco Art Guild. It brings such joy to see God's plan coming to fruition. I can't wait to see what us others girls do.
As for the past few months, this home has felt like "The People's House". We have had so many people stay and gather under our roof. All celebrating life in different and exciting ways, from creating a new life to a wedding. We feel so blessed and are excited to see what's next!
I, as well as my husband, are talking a cafe & bakery parcel. There is a high demand for a creative space in our new area and we could certainly bring the creative aspect of it in hopes to partner with a business partner & pastry chef. If it is meant to be, God will show us the way.
Oh, lastly, the 2020 calendar truned out beautifully! And we sold out!
